The Russian Roundup: Drake’s $1million Bitcoin Donation — Issue #29
Recently we have seen a large influx of celebrities take a liking to the crypto economy and explore the possibilities the digital asset class can offer.
Arguably, the world's biggest artist has explored crypto by making an estimated $1million USD Bitcoin donation to the LeBron James Foundation.
Previously we noticed the partnership that the LeBron James Foundation secured with crypto exchange crypto.com however, it was reported that after a successful win on crypto roulette platform Stake, Drake decided to make a more than generous donation.
EU Avoid Proof-Of-Work Ban 🇪🇺
Governments and institutions have been forced to respond to the accelerated adoption of digital assets and there has been a great split depending on whether governments will place regulations that will halt that process of adoption.
There were some circulating rumours that the EU was going to vote on a bill that contained the provision of a ban on the proof-of-work consensus mechanism which has raised concerns due to its high energy requirements.
The EU proposed the Markets In Crypto Assets a regulatory package that included the banning of Bitcoins infamous proof-of-work consensus mechanism however before moving to the negotiation process they have made the decision to move forward without the provision of banning POW.

Crypto.com Official FIFA 2022 World Cup Sponsor ⚽️
In no case at all is football a stranger to the world of crypto as daily advances are made in the sporting industry to increase fan connectivity through the digital asset space.
After acquiring the naming rights to the Crypto.com Arena, it was announced earlier this week that crypto.com will be the official sponsor for the FIFA 2022 World Cup which will be hosted in Qatar.
The details of the sponsorship will include branding displays across the whole sporting event.
